CineFriendz is a social platform for cinema lovers. This policy explains how we handle your data, our relationship with data providers, and how we keep your movie memories secure.

1. Data Sourcing & Attribution

CineFriendz uses metadata provided by The Movie Database (TMDb). This includes movie/TV titles, descriptions, cast lists, release dates, and imagery (posters and backdrops).

This product uses the TMDb API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDb.

2. Information We Collect

To provide a social experience, we store the following information:

Identity: Username, email, and profile picture.
Social Content: Reviews, Movie Rankings, Recasts, Alt Endings, and Suggestions.
Media: Photos uploaded to your "Movie Memories."
Technical: Device tokens (FCM) to send notifications about likes, comments, and follow requests.

3. Location Data

We allow you to log "Theater" locations and associate them with your watch history. This data is user-inputted and is used only to categorize your movie-going history. We do not track your real-time GPS coordinates in the background.

4. Privacy & Visibility

You control your footprint on CineFriendz:

Private Mode: If enabled, only approved followers can see your watch history and reviews.
Content Visibility: Specific items like Suggestions and Re-Rankings can be toggled between Public and Private.

5. Community Safety

To maintain a healthy environment, we provide reporting tools. If you report a user or piece of content, our moderators review the associated data to take appropriate action.

6. Account Deletion

You have the "Right to be Forgotten." Using the Delete Account option in Settings will:

Immediately deactivate your profile.
Queue all reviews, rankings, and memories for permanent deletion.
Remove your identity from our active database.
